KARL F BLANKLEY

DIGITAL ART DIRECTOR & DESIGNER

In the past eight years I have been a storyboard artist, a designer, a freelancer and an art director, specialising in the digital realm, respectively. Over the years I have had the opportunity of working in the UK, Australia and currently Denmark, working alongside some of the very best creative's, designers and technical talent that country has to offer.

This folio site is a collection of some of my work from around the globe, I designed this site for quick web viewing (and for iPad) with no page changes, large images or hefty flash animations, less is always more. Click the arrow below, or anywhere in the box, to navigate through the pages, contact information can be found at the bottom of the page.

Bezzerwizzer

The classic Danish board game, combining trivia and tactics bought to you on the iPhone. The Bezzerwizzer app was designed completely from the floor up, brainstorming, wireframes, and design all the way to art direction.

Updated regularly with new questions and categories, users can compete against other for supremacy. The app was a huge success, allowing fans of the board game to take an 'on the go' version with them, wherever they are.

The paper baron

The award winning Paper Baron game, the Australian Defence Force wanted to push the need for fighter pilots with a viral interactive game. All elements of the game were hand crafted from sheets of paper, even the fire

effect was real, everything was then photographed and digitalised in PS, the Flash guys then got to work on making it move. The result was a highly addictive yet simple game that generated thousands of hits.

Cadbury schweppes

Relaunch of the Cadbury Schweppes Australia site, the issue was they wanted a more interactive site, not just a list of products. With a larger focus on social networking in mind, we created the 'Wiki Mix' idea, a Wikipedia but for drinks. When viewing a particular drink you could read

the history about how and where the drink originated, there would be a list of ingredients and how to make it, you could even rate and write feedback on the drink to help perfect the cocktail. A special 'Trade' section of site would enable bars to bulk order products directly to there bars.

Spring Valley: Your Sensible

Spring Valley needed a brand new campaign to promote their new range of healthy drinks. 'Save your Sensible' was a Cannes Lions winning campaign, based upon the idea that everyone has a 'Sensible' inside him or her. If you

treated your 'Sensible' badly it would get angry and become sick, to make it well, give it 'Spring Valley'. The digital campaign was complimented with an integrated Facebook application with a cool campaign of online banners.

Danske Bank: Dream On

With one in three Danish minors in credit debt, Danske bank wanted to show the value of money, the ability to save and forecast for the future. We came up with a strategy turn based game, where users would play against

there friends to achieve there ultimate dream, but they would have to budget for unfortuante events that occure in everyday life. The game was successfuly launched in 7 different countries across Europe.
